If we are going to simplify milsos down to a brief statement, it could be that we are able to get through anything with very little, and that is the energy I am bringing to prepping for this new baby – to include what I am packing in my hospital bag!

TOILETRIES

For starters, I need to be clear that I am not a shower-at-the-hospital type of girl so I don’t pack to accommodate that! This is my basic toiletries list:

MAMA COMFORTS

The rest of the items I pack are the creature comforts that I enjoy bringing that just make the experience feel as cozy for me as possible!

Robe

I am a jersey knit robe fan as anything plush can make me overheat in no time! My OG has been THIS one that I have had for years and I just snagged THIS one for this birth!

Cute, Comfy PJs

The softness and price of these are unmatched! I have THIS nightie in black and packed THIS set in blue for a bit of fun. The buttons on it are perfect and having the dress option was so nice for the constant checks mama’s get after delivery!

Nursing Bras + Nursing Pads

It took me a few kids to figure out that I really do prefer the cross-style nursing bras and I am so excited to try out THESE ones this time around! They come with removable padding but I love how the quality feels like the will be more flattering than the typical nursing bra but the stretch will also accommodate an early mom’s growing chest.

Going Home Outfit

For mom, of course! Whether you are trying to leave the hospital looking like Kate Middleton or you just want to feel your best as you take your new little love home, options are everything! I will probably make a game time decision and I am between THIS flattering dress and THIS ultra luxe jumpsuit!

Cozy Socks

An item I didn’t know i needed until one of our sweet team members gifted it to me for my last delivery. THESE were the perfect addition to my hospital bag that ensured my feet were warm and cozy!

For Baby

Okay so if you haven’t heard before, the hospital will have everything you need for your newest addition! Honestly, saving space to bring a little stash home isn’t a terrible idea – more on this in a second. The ONLY thing(s) I will be bringing for baby is not 1 but 2, welcome home outfits. My first 2 inevitably had blow outs in their first outfits so we naturally had to change them and praise be that we had backups!

OUTSIDE THE BAG ITEMS

Okay this is a larger, “extra” item to pack but we love bringing THESE cozy blankets with us. It smells like us/our home and is ultra cozy when we are doing skin-to-skin during our hospital stay! In addition to that blanket, we also refer to bring our own pillow because you just never know if you’ll be out in 12 hrs or in a few days!

SISTERLY ADVICE

Basically sharing a bit of sisterly advice here to give you an idea of what to expect them to have on hand for you! If you notices, I didn’t pack any postpartum care items or newborn items. While you certainly can, the hospital will have more than enough to get you through and asking for more say, the night before you leave, is a major move to help you stock your back with essentials!
